Daniel Ackerman covers climate change for Gimlet Media’s How to Save a Planet. His audio stories on science and the environment have aired on NPR, Marketplace, and 99% Invisible. His writing appears in National Geographic, The Washington Post and Scientific American and others. Daniel’s coverage has won multiple awards, including first place in Audio Scripting from the Public Media Journalists Association (PMJA) for his story about industrial lubricants (more exciting than you thought!), and first place in Best Use of Sound from the PMJA for his story about a centuries-old wine making tradition that crossed the Atlantic. Daniel holds a PhD in climate change ecology. Daniel has reported from the bottom of a sinkhole and interviewed heads-of-state, though not at the same time.
